Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana: Yogyakarta, Indonesia. In the context of four range of language skills, speaking involves an active production to engage in verbal interaction. However, there are some individuals who strive for the best result in L2 speaking, leading to a deduction in their own belief. Thus, this present research investigated the correlation between L2 speaking perfectionism and SPCC among high school students. It aimed to discover the correlation between speaking perfectionism and SPCC. Hence, this study conducted in private high school in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, by examining students’ L2 speaking perfectionism and SPCC level. Result shows that students developed medium to high level for both L2 speaking perfectionism and SPCC. Furthermore, a low positive correlation between L2 speaking perfectionism and SPCC was identified. This indicates that students with higher L2 perfectionism tend to report higher SPCC. There were also three major themes in students’ views on possible interaction between L2 speaking perfectionism and SPCC. The most significant theme was that students SPCC level escalated when they performed well in L2 speaking classroom. In the end, implications, contributions, limitations and suggestion for future studies were detailed in the final chapter.
