Abstract

Regina, F (2025). Designing an English Busy Book for the Second Year Kindergarten Students in Yogyakarta (Unpublish Undergraduate Final Project). Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This research project aims to develop a school busy book in English for second-year kindergarten students at a private Christian school in Yogyakarta. The busy book meets the need for engaging resources for learning English that go well with the kindergarten curriculum. Through play-based learning exercises like writing, pasting, and coloring, the Busy Book promotes reading comprehension and vocabulary growth. The busy book was developed using the ADDIE instructional methodology, which stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. As part of the project, the kids' learning styles were examined, and materials tailored to their requirements were created. Time restrictions prevented the implementation phase from being carried out, however instructor comments validated the design's efficacy. The busy book covers eight topic: Animals, Nature and Surroundings, Fresh Air, Celestial Object, Solar System, Rain and Rainbow, Natural Disaster, and Watch Out for Fire. Interactive exercises are included for every topic with the goal of improving language proficiency while having fun. In addition to helping students become more motivated to learn English, this cutting-edge tool supports learning in the classroom and at home by giving teachers and parents resources.
